Selection tab page (Print Names)

The Selection tab page, the first page you see when you select the Print Names in File option on the Names Menu, enables you to specify which names (individuals or families) will be included in a report.

The process of specifying how the report will look and where it will be viewed is handled on the Print Control tab page.

Your list selection criteria can be as simple as including all names, the newsletter list, people in a certain age group, or members who hold a certain church office.

Your list can also be as complex as a list of (for example) all the names who live in the 92345 zip code who are between the ages of 40 and 50 who play the guitar who like to eat pizza who have not missed more than 1 worship service over the last 6 weeks and who joined the church in the year 2005! Though this example seems like it would be complex to create, it is actually quite easy to accomplish using the Selections page.

Each individual field shown on the Selection page has its own help topic. To see the help files for a given field, click on it to give it focus, and then press F1. If the fields you wish to select are not enabled, click the Field-based selections button in the upper left corner of the Selection page to activate the field you want to read about.
