Print Names In File

To print names or families in your CMD file, click the Print Names in File item on the Names Menu, or click the printer icon on the speed button bar to bring up CMD's Print Names dialog, which contains two tab pages, each performing one of the two basic steps in the process of printing names:

Step 1: Selecting the Names to be included in the list or report. This step, always the first one to be performed, is done on the Selection tab page. Always start here! Do not first go to the Print Control tab page without having selected the items you wish to use as the criteria for your list on the Selection page!

Step 2: Selecting how the report will look (and also where you will look at it). This page should only be selected after having made the appropriate choices on the Selection page.

Though there are some other forms and reports which can be printed in various other parts of the CMD (such as attendance forms, individual visitation logs, envelopes from the name search dialogs), most of the printing you will do in CMD will be done from here.

You can print lists of individuals and/or families in a variety of ways. You can construct a virtually endless set of lists based on any criteria that you choose. Mastering this part of CMD will enable you to get the most from your data.
