Regular Bulk Mail

The following instructions assume that your church has a permit number to send bulk mail, which is required by the USPS.

To have CMD properly sort and print mailing labels for regular bulk mail (200 or more pieces), follow these steps, assuming you have already picked the names you wish to print on the Selection page of the Print Names dialog:

Select all the options on the Print Control page that you wish to use such as Use Titles, Include Spouse, Name Formality, etc.

Select Mailing Labels as the Output Form. You may select any of the label options you wish to use. You may also use Label Offsets as needed.

Check the box that says Bulk Mail Preparation. Do NOT check the Use Post Net bar codes box! Checking this box will change the nature of the sort!

You do not need to enter anything in the Mixed AADC ID field or in any of the SCF Zips fields.

Click Begin Printing. When the labels are printed, the various categories of labels will be grouped together for you such as 5-digit groups, 3-digit groups, ADC groups, and Mixed ADC groups. For definitions of these terms, contact your local post office.

Hint: Be sure to keep the labels separated in the same groupings as they are printed in CMD when you apply them to the envelopes so that you can bundle the labeled letters into the same groups!
