Enter Attendance by Phone Number

The Mark Attendance by Phone Number dialog allows you to print name tags and/or mark attendance for any or all family members based on the last four digits of their home phone number or by an individual's cell phone number.

You may enter the phone number in one of three ways:

Click into the Phone Number entry space in the upper left corner of the dialog and type in the numbers

Using your mouse pointer, click directly onto the numbers on the number pad

If your computer has a touch screen, then simply press the numbers on the number pad

When all four digits have been entered, press/click on the Find button. This will either bring up a list of all persons who match the last 4 digits of their home phone or cell phone, or you will see a message telling you that there were no matches.

Selecting Names for Name Tags or Marking for Attendance

When the list of names appears, click or touch directly on the box or the name itself to mark each name for whom a name tag should be printed or attendance marked.

When all names have been selected, click/press the button in the lower right corner of the dialog to either Print Name Tags or Mark Present or Print Name Tags/Mark Present (this button will display one of these messages based on how it has been set up for your use).

When the requested action has been taken, the names list and phone number will be cleared so that the computer can accept the next phone number entry.

What if More Than One Family Appears on the List?

In the age of cell phones or when in a large metro area, it's entirely possible that more than one family will share the same last 4 digits of their phone number. Different area codes and exchanges make it possible. So don't be surprised if you see a mixture of names from more than one family on the screen when you enter your phone digits. Just select the members of your family who are to receive a name tag or be marked present and ignore the rest.

Exiting the Mark Attendance by Phone Number dialog

Because this feature is designed to make your computer and CMD accessible by the general public, we've provided a password safety mechanism to keep unauthorized people from getting to other parts of CMD.

The means to exit this dialog is by clicking the small X in the upper right corner of the dialog. If you have elected to password protect your CMD with a login requirement, a small password dialog will appear. You must enter the same password that was used to log in to CMD for the current session in order to close this dialog. If you enter an incorrect password, you'll be notified, and then given another chance to try again if you wish.

Once a valid password has been entered, the dialog will close, returning you to the Enter Attendance dialog.

Note that if you do not require a login for your CMD program, no password will be required to exit from this dialog.
