Family Status field

The Family Status field indicates what role a person plays in their family. This field also helps CMD know how to construct a family's names when printing a formal directory. The choices for this menu are defined within the CMD itself and may not be altered by users.

Generally the selection this menu displays is pre-defined for you by virtue of the choice for a name that was made when they were first added to the family via the Add New Family Member button in the Family Data area. However, this field is provided in the Individuals Data area so that you can change it later on when necessary.Your choices are...

Husband: Use this choice only where there is a both a husband and wife living together in the same family.

Wife: Use this choice only where there is a both a husband and wife living together in the same family.

Single Adult: This selection is appropriate for an adult living alone.

Single Parent: Use this choice for a single parent of either gender.

Minor Child: This choice is reserved for your minor children living at home.

Adult Child: This choice is for an adult-aged child still living at home.

Other Dependant: This choice can be used for foster children, adults for whom you are providing care, or other unusual circumstances.

Independent Minor: Use this choice when you need to establish a family record for a minor where there will be no parents or guardians entered. Using this Family Status choice will allow for the minor’s name to be printed correctly in a church directory.

Partner: Use this choice for non-married adults sharing a household.

Organization: If you wish to enter organizations in this part of the data base instead of using the Organizations data base within CMD, select this option as the Family Status.
