CMD 2019.1 New Features Guide

CMD 2019.1 has these new features:

Internal picture storage. Prior versions of CMD used externally-stored pictures, which means that they all were to reside in a specific picture folder and path. By default, that path in prior versions was: C:\CMD-SFM\WebApps\Pictures. That path was used to make other data secure when using the phone and tablet apps.

Having the pictures stored internally in CMD's data files will not impact normal use in any sense. The only potential negative impact is that the size of one of your data tables will swell considerably which in turn means that the size of your backup files will swell in relation to the pictures you store.

The most important thing to remember is to make sure that your pictures conform to CMD's specifications for pictures so that you do not store any more data with the pictures than necessary. For more information on using pictures in CMD, click here.

To import any pictures currently linked to names in your CMD data files, go to Utilities | Import Prior CMD Data | Import Pictures. You can import both family and individual pictures on this dialog.

Attendance Phone app. Use this app to mark attendance from a smart phone. Available only on the hosted CMD system.

Phone App for staff use. This updated app shows virtually all the data for an individual, and allows you to edit any item you see on your phone's screen. This includes entering visitation information. This new app is available only on the hosted CMD system.

Member Contributions app. This new app allows your members to securely log in and view their current year's contributions. This app is mostly finished and will be ready for 2020.2. It is only available on the hosted system.

A slew of internal tweaks and updates to make CMD preform more smoothly and securely.
