Use this field to enter a preferred name in those cases where an individual wishes to be called something other than their First Name.

This field is filled in automatically with the information already entered in the First Name field when you first TAB into it. This is done since most people will be called by their First Name.

You may enter up to 20 characters for the Goes By field. Do not enter blank characters either before or after the information you enter into the Goes By field.

The Name Formality tab page on the General Preferences dialog allows you to determine whether the First Name or Goes By field is used when you print various reports, including labels.
