Committee work will consume a surprising amount of your time. And it's not just the actual meeting time itself; there's very often preparation and follow-up. And sometimes that will fall on you to do.

If possible, extricate yourself from any committee assignments not specifically germane to your work. But do be faithful at those to which you are assigned because if you are not there, the major pastoral advocate's voice cannot be heard.

Though some of the specific committee assignments and your role on them may vary from conference to conference, here are some typical committee examples:
